Collier Transition Program About Us

At the heart of the Collier Transition Program is a belief in the inherent worth of the individual and a belief in the capacity for personal change. Through quality education and therapeutic support, students come to experience themselves as caring, talented, and high-achieving individuals.

The Collier Transition Program serves students who have completed all of their high school graduation requirements but would benefit from support in enhancing their professional skills, college and/or vocational preparedness, and life-skills to increase their independence and employability. 

Collier Transition Program is great for students who have an IEP and have any of the following symptoms:

  • Depression
  • Anxiety
  • Poor socialization/Isolation
  • Oppositional/Defiant behavior
  • Discouragement/Low motivation
  • School refusal
  • Attention and adjustment difficulties

 The Collier Transition Program is a highly customized program that works with students on meeting their specific needs. Students participate in a comprehensive career interest and values assessment to establish their targeted goals. Eligible students are offered Structured Learning Experiences (SLE) that place them in on- or off-campus jobs best suited to their career interests. Students receive extensive coaching and job-skills development to help them achieve success after high school.

Transition Program students will also have access to:

  • Safety training
  • Social skills groups
  • Individualized therapeutic support
  • Lessons in time management, budgeting, professionalism, etc.
  • Post-graduate consultation including college applications
  • Vocational Classes
  • Community college courses through Dual Enrollment programs
